DatapointLabs Joins the UGS Global Partner Program

DatapointLabs Joins the UGS Global Partner Program to Supply TestPaks® to NX Nastran Users Ithaca, NY: November 29th, 2005 DatapointLabs (www.datapointlabs.com <http://www.datapointlabs.com/>), the 'expert material testing company,' has entered an agreement with UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, to provide material property data for UGS’ NX™ Nastran users using DatapointLabs’ TestPaks® technology. As part of the agreement, DatapointLabs has become a member of the UGS Global Partner Program.

With the increasing use of modern non-linear materials such as composites, metals, rubber, elastomers, plastics and foams, CAE users are increasingly faced with the dilemma of where to get material data inputs for their simulation programs. TestPaks® technology streamlines the process of material model calibration by providing a single point of interaction for CAE users to get their materials tested, analyzed and reduced into model parameters. TestPaks® are not just convenient to order, but provide users with a complete picture of material behavior, as dictated by the design of their CAE program. Further, this quantitative definition of their materials behavior is translated into NX Nastran as digital CAE-ready input decks.

“Material properties for such materials, that are suitable for CAE, are just not widely available in databases. With TestPaks®, NX Nastran users will be able to have their materials tested to generate “load & go” material models for their analyses by simply ordering a line-item from our online catalog,” says Hubert Lobo, DatapointLabs President.

Over the coming months, DatapointLabs will introduce a new line of TestPaks® for both linear and non-linear NX Nastran applications. The goal is to enable UGS clients to be able to implement a wide range of FEA on a variety of materials. With the help of TestPaks®, they can simulate a host of material behaviors including stiffness, failure, creep, stress relaxation, fatigue and impact over a different temperatures and conditions. DatapointLabs will also offer technical support to NX Nastran users in material modeling strategies, model selection and implementation, over the phone at 1-888-DATA-4-CAE (888-328-2422) and also via its new info-site www.testpaks.com <http://www.testpaks.com/>. The company has NX Nastran in-house for the performance of validation and verification studies.

"This partnership with DatapointLabs is important to UGS as we extend our world-class NX Nastran linear static and dynamic analysis capabilities into advanced non-linear FEA areas,” said Mark Donley, product manager, NX Nastran, UGS. “Complementary third-party technologies, such as TestPaks®, make it easy for engineers to perform advanced multi-physics simulations leveraging a single, open simulation framework. As such, these partnerships are extremely important in achieving new product innovation within continually shortened new product development schedules.”
