Plasticity Properties of Plastics

Plasticity Properties of Plastics- When modeling plastic most times it is necessary to look at plasticity. Plasticity describes the behavior that takes place beyond the yield point in a material (plastic region). When a material goes into the plastic region (in most cases) the strain cannot be recovered. Most simulations use a curve of plastic strain and true stress to define behavior beyond the yield point. The plastic stress strain data is combined with elastic data to create an entire curve to define the materials behavior all the way through the plastic region. Plastic strain starts from zero strain and continues to the breaking point of the material (this may require changing solution option to account for large deformations).
